About Me

jhp

Who am I? I’m just a dad and husband blitzing through life. I have been married to my beautiful wife for over 20 years. I have 5 incredible boys ranging from preschool to high school. I have a passion for Christ and am constantly struggling with finding and following the will of God in all aspects of my life, including parenting (the hardest job of all), marriage and professionally. I am an attorney by trade and have no formal religious training, so evaluate any of my spiritual opinions with the grain of salt they deserve.

This Blog is my outlet for expression of ideas and beliefs on family, religion and politics that, quite frankly, no one wants to hear me talk about. So, here you can come and go as you like and ignore anything I have to say without any awkward moments.

I would very much love to hear your feedback, though. So please leave comments. Also subscribe to this Blog if it tickles your fancy. And sign my Guestbook before you leave.

  1. I read a few entries on your blog and really enjoyed it. I agree that parenting is one of the hardest jobs ever, (and most rewarding). Anyway, just wanted to drop a note to say “hi”! Thanks for sharing.

  4. “Have a passion for Christ” seems to be the most basic tenet to build on. He must love that! I find Him to be delightful. A great adventure. I’m glad you left a like on my “Letter from Mom.” I’m a great-grandmother. Guess I’ve at least muttered all these idioms at one time of another! No, I’m joking. See you around.

  5. I love the fact you and your wife have 5 boys. My husband (of almost 36 years) and I have raised 3 boys. It was a challenge and very rewarding. My house even survived :). Enjoy every minute of it …. even the hard times. Psalm 127:3-5. Also thank you so much for stopping by my blog. May you be blessed today.

  7. I want to thank you for visiting my blog, mostly because it brought me to yours. You are a good writer and I read a few of your pieces. I particularity like the one about the joy missing in our churches and ion Christian’s lives. Oh, how contagious it would be if all Christians could just live in the joy of the Lord! We would change the world!

  8. Well done on your wonderful family and passion for Christ! I’ve just launched a project called Contemplation Center for people to connect through sharing contemplative thoughts about life. My hope is that this will be a great tool for creating deeper, more genuine connections through sharing thoughts about how we view life, God, etc., in the online world. I would be honored if you would like to join and share some of your posts at http://www.contemplationcenter.org

    1. Wow, I’m honored for the invitation. Would love to contribute, so long as I can post the same content here and there (I don’t have the capacity for posting original content in more than one place). If you want to shoot me an email (contact link on my home page) with details, I’d love to take a look.
